  • Parish Updates - April 2023 : Some important Updates and Upcoming Events in our Parish. 1) There will be a Night Vigil Adoration on Friday, May 5th, starting with 9 PM Qurbana and ending with Saturday morning Qurbana at 9 AM. All parishioners are encouraged to participate at their convenience. 2) The Fathers Forum will be meeting on Sunday, May 7th, 2023, immediately following the first Mass. 3) There will be a Holy Communicants Parents Meeting on Sunday, May 7th, immediately after the first Mass. 4) The St. Vincent De Paul Society will be organizing a blood drive on Sunday, May 7th, from 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM in our gymnasium. Please consider participating. 5) There will be a retreat for Holy Communicants and their parents on Saturday, May 13th, 2023. The retreat will begin at 9 AM with Qurbana and Confession, followed by a rehearsal. Attendance is mandatory for all children who are receiving Holy Communion this year and their parents. 6) The First Holy Communion and Confirmation ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, May 27th at 3:00 PM. Everyone is invited to join in the celebration. 7) The recognition of Graduates will take place on June 4th at the 8:30 AM Mass. Please give your names to Trustees, CCD Coordinators, or James K, before May 28th to be recognized in our Church. -John Achen
  • Special schedule - April 10th through May 3rd. : Kindly be informed that John Achen will be on vacation from Easter Sunday evening until May 3rd. In his absence, Holy Mass will be conducted only on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays in our Church. Fr. Ciya and Fr. Shaju will be responsible for liturgical services during John Achen's time away. For emergencies, please reach out to the Parish Trustees. Additionally, please be aware that Malayalam Mass on Tuesdays at Notre Dame Church will be suspended during this period.
  • 2023 Holy Week Schedule : We will be entering Holy Week next Sunday, a week full of God's blessings pouring out to all those who are ready to accept them. Let us all present ourselves to the Lord's hands for His blessings. Palm Sunday (4/02/23): - 8:30 AM, and 11:30 AM in our Church. - 3:30 PM at Notre Dame Church Holy Thursday (04/06/23): The evening services begin with Holy Qurbana at 7:00 PM, followed by Holy Thursday services, washing of the feet, Eucharistic Procession, blessing of Pesaha Appam, and Adoration until 12:00 AM. Good Friday (04/07/23) – Obligatory Day of Fasting and Abstinence - 9:00 AM Malayalam Service & Kurisinte Vazhi - 4:00 PM English Service & Stations of the Cross. Holy Saturday (04/08/23): 9:00 AM Holy Mass, including the blessing of water, renewal of Baptismal Vows, and Anointing of the Sick, among other services. Easter Vigil Saturday (04/08/23): - 4:00 PM English Service and Solemn Qurbana. - 8:00 PM Malayalam Service and Solemn Qurbana. Easter Sunday (04/09/23): There will be ONLY ONE MASS at 10:00 AM at our Church.
  • Parish Updates - Feb 2023 : Some important Updates and Upcoming Events in our Parish, 1) Starting this Monday (2/20), we will observe the Holy Season of Lent with Qurbana and Signing with Ash at 7:30 PM in our Church. 2) A Priest will be available to hear Confession on Monday from 7 PM till 8:30 during the Holy Season of Lent. 3) During Lent, we will have Qurbana every day, followed by Stations of the Cross after every Mass. Qurbana on Tuesdays will take place at Notre Dame at 6:00 PM. 4) I will be on a Guadalupe Pilgrimage with 46 people from our parish on February 23rd, and we will return on Sunday, February 26, 2023. Please keep us all in your prayers. 5) After the first Mass on Sunday, March 5th, the Parish Council Meeting will take place. 6) Palliyogam will be held on March 12th after the first Mass. 7) Bishop Mar Thomas Tharayil, the Auxiliary Bishop of Chenganacherry, will lead a Lenten Retreat in our Church from March 16-19, 2023 (Thursday through Sunday), with varying hours of service each day. 8) There will be no CCD + Syro Malabar Qurbana in Notre Dame during the Retreat Sunday. 9) Priests will be available to hear Confessions on Saturday during the Retreat from 10 AM till 4 PM. 10) We will celebrate St. Joseph’s Feast on Sunday, March 19th at 8:30 AM. 11) The Feast of Annunciation to BVM will take place on Saturday, March 25th. 12) A Pilgrimage to the National Shrine of Divine Mercy in Massachusetts is scheduled for March 25th. 13) On Saturday, April 1st, CCD + CML group together will lead a pilgrimage to Our Lady of Islands. 14) Palm Sunday falls on April 2nd. Regular CCD will be conducted. 15) Holy Thursday service will take place on April 6th at 7:30 PM, followed by Adoration until 12 AM. 16) Good Friday will feature two services - Malayalam Service at 9 AM and English at 4 PM. 17) On Holy Saturday, Renewal of Baptismal Vows, Water blessing, and Anointing of the Sick, etc. will be conducted at 9 AM. 18) Easter Vigil will take place on Saturday, April 8th. There will be an English service at 4 PM and Malayalam at 8 PM. 19) On Easter Sunday, only one Mass each will be held in our Church and Notre Dame, at 10 AM and 4 PM respectively. There will be no CCD on Easter Sunday. 20) Divine Mercy Sunday will be observed on April 16th, 2023. 21) I will be on a short vacation to Kerala from April 16th for two weeks. During this period, Masses will only be held on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. 22) Holy Communion and Confirmation will be held on Saturday, May 27th, at 3 PM. 23) The recognition of Graduates will take place on June 4th at the 8:30 AM Mass. Graduates are requested to submit their names before May 21st to the Trustees, CCD, or Youth Coordinators. 24) The VBS (Vacation Bible School) will be held from June 28-30, 2023. 25) The Steubenville Youth Retreat will take place from July 7-9, 2023. 26) The Parish Picnic is scheduled for Saturday, July 22nd. 27) We will celebrate St. Alphonsa Thirunal on Sunday, July 30th at 4 PM. 28) Parish Thirunal will be held on Sunday, September 10th. 29) Our Parish Family Night will be on Saturday, November 25th. -John Achen
  • Mass Intentions and Sacraments : Please get in touch with our Pastor & Vicar, Rev. Fr. John Melepuram, for Mass Offerings, the Sacraments of Marriage, and Baptism.
  • Parish Rectory : Ever since 2015 Palliyogam decision, we had different attempts to acquire a rectory as our own, for the Priests serving in our Parish. Due to different reasons, we couldn’t accomplish it. 2021 & 2022 Parish Council encouraged and approved it again and entrusted Trustees and Achan, to acquire one before December 2022. After scrutinizing as much as we could, and discussing with attorney and our Diocesan Bishops, we have signed a contract for $ 695 K, a nice home (1 Bishop Ct.; Bethpage, NY 11714) 2 miles away from our Church, within the parameter and guidance of the Parish Council. We need your sincere support from all our families for accomplishing this project. We are in short of 300 K. If your family’s financial situation permits, please support this with $ 1000 + We appreciate all your support, you all did for purchasing our Church building and constructing the Social Hall as well.
